TrueNorth Wellness Services Enhances Rural Behavioral Health Care
McCONNELLSBURG, PA — TrueNorth Wellness Services, a leading trauma-informed care agency, has announced a significant investment in rural health services at its McConnellsburg office, made possible through federal funding support.
Since establishing its presence in the region in 2006, and opening the McConnellsburg office in 2011, TrueNorth has remained deeply committed to providing behavioral health, counseling, and emergency crisis services to rural communities across Fulton and Franklin counties.
To bridge geographic gaps and better reach residents in remote areas, TrueNorth utilized new grant funding to implement critical technology upgrades. These enhancements directly support approximately 650 community members annually by expanding access to essential care through multiple avenues:
• Mobile Peer Support: Upgrades enable mobile peer support services, allowing staff to meet and support neighbors directly across Fulton County.
• Virtual & Onsite Counseling: Enhanced technology supports the growing demand for virtual connections with TrueNorth counselors alongside traditional onsite services, making it easier for clients to engage with care.
• Crisis Intervention: Improved infrastructure allows TrueNorth Crisis Intervention Services to offer increased mobile crisis support while strengthening coordination with state and county systems, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline Network and bordering crisis programs.
The technology upgrades were applied directly to Crisis Intervention, Peer Support, and mental health Outpatient Therapy and Psychiatry services delivered in Fulton County.
This project is supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $85,000, with 100% funded by CMS/HHS.
