Summary of Meeting of Borough of Hanover Council Held on April 22, 2026

The following are the highlights of the Borough Council’s meeting held on April 22, 2026. Supporting documents on most items of Council business are available on the Borough website (www.HanoverBoroughPA.gov) under “Agendas and Minutes”.

 

BOROUGH COUNCIL ACTIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

SEWER CREDIT: Approval was granted for a sewer credit for 223 Ruth Avenue, Randy Homan, in the amount of $80.28.

 

POLICE SUSPENSION: Approval was granted for a police suspension by recommendation of the Police Chief.

 

NON-UNION SALARIES: Approval was granted for Resolution No. 1464 to amend salaries for the following positions: Public Works Supervisor, Operations Manager, and Fleet Supervisor.

 

EASEMENT AGREEMENTS: Approval was granted for a Water Pipeline Easement Agreement for installation of a fire hydrant at 610 Black Rock Road and for an Easement Agreement for a proposed water main crossing of York County Rail Trail at Gitts Run Road.

 

SEWER RENT FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE ORDINANCE: Authorization was granted to advertise an Ordinance for Additional Sewer Rent for Industrial Waste.

 

TIME EXTENSION FOR DEVELOPMENT PLAN: Approval was granted to accept a 90-day extension for the proposed Wawa Fueling Station & Food Market Land Development Plan at 301 Eisenhower Drive.

 

MISCELLANEOUS FEE RESOLUTION: Approval was granted for Resolution No. 1465 for updates to the Miscellaneous Fee Schedule.

 

EMERGENCY SERVICE PROVIDER COST REIMBURSEMENT ORDINANCE: Approval was granted for Ordinance No. 2387 entitled “AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF HANOVER, YORK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF HANOVER TO ADD A NEW CHAPTER 203 ENTITLED ‘EMERGENCY SERVICES COST REIMBURSEMENT’, AUTHORIZING THE HANOVER AREA FIRE AND RESCUE COMMISSION TO SEEK RECOVERY AND REIMBURSEMENT OF COSTS AND MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED AND SERVICES RENDERED IN PROVIDING FIRE PROTECTION AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES”.
