The Borough of Hanover / Hanover Municipal Water Works Publishes Annual Water Quality Report
Hanover, Pa. – The Borough of Hanover Department of Water Resources has released its annual Consumer Confidence Report, which provides science-based information on the Borough’s water quality and sources from the 2024 calendar year.
The Borough has again met and surpassed all state and federal drinking water standards set forth by the State Water Resources Control Board and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
In 2024, the Borough of Hanover tested for 43 contaminants and impurities in its drinking water sources, Long Arm Reservoir, Sheppard-Myers Reservoir, Kitzmiller Dam, and Slagles Run intake and pump station. The Borough of Hanover collected 624 water samples and performed 2,496 tests from the approximately 215 miles of distribution system. The Borough of Hanover performed 6,240 tests to monitor and ensure quality drinking water.
“The Borough of Hanover Department of Water Resources is proud to publish this comprehensive and data-driven water quality report. It shows the commitment from the associates that work around the clock to deliver high-quality water service to nearly 18,000 customers in our service area,” stated the Borough’s Director of Water and Wastewater Treatment Tony Thomas.
Borough Manager Margret Lewis added, “We hope our customers will take the opportunity to learn about the details in this report so they will be confident of the high-quality of the Borough’s drinking water supplies.”
