Jordan Ilyes Receives Townie Award for Greer’s Burger Garage Rehabilitation

HARRISBURG, PA. – Main Street Hanover is proud to announce that Jordan Ilyes has received the 2025 Townie Award for Individual Façade Rehabilitation, honoring his transformative work on Greer’s Burger Garage in downtown Hanover. Pennsylvania Downtown Center (PDC) presented nineteen awards during the organization’s annual statewide Townie Awards gala. The Townie Awards are a festive and venerable tradition designed to recognize the commonwealth’s core communities and individuals for creation and implementation of projects, programs and events that exemplify the goals of PDC’s community revitalization mission. Eligible communities consist of Pennsylvania Downtown Center’s nearly 200 member organizations, including Main Street and Elm Street programs, making the Townies a competitive award process each year.
Pennsylvania Downtown Center’s executive director, Julie Fitzpatrick, said “The Townies are an opportunity for us to showcase our member communities and celebrate their incredible work in our commonwealth’s business districts and neighborhoods. Our Main Street and Elm Street community leaders work tirelessly to make our Pennsylvania communities places where we are proud to call home, start a business, build a family, or retire. These award winners are true examples of why “Main Street Matters.” We are thrilled to honor 19 incredible award winners.”
The impact of this rehabilitation has been far-reaching:
  • Enhanced Streetscape: The updated façade brings renewed energy and historic charm to the district.
  • Economic Revitalization: Increased foot traffic and commercial activity have strengthened the downtown core.
  • Community Pride: The project has inspired local investment and engagement.
  • Mixed-Use Development: A portion of the building now includes residential housing, promoting a walkable, livable downtown.
Jordan Ilyes, owner of Ilyes Holdings LLC and partner at Tailored Real Estate LLC, is dedicated to restoring neglected and historic properties across the region. “My goal has always been to impact the community in a positive way and promote quality businesses and living experiences,” said Ilyes.
“This project is a perfect example of how strategic investment and preservation can breathe new life into our downtown,” said Moriah Tyler, Executive Director of Main Street Hanover. “Jordan’s commitment to quality, history, and community truly sets a standard for what revitalization should look like. We’re incredibly proud to have this kind of work happening right here in Hanover.”
The Townie Awards were presented as part of this year’s Gather & Grow: Townie Awards & Manager’s Meeting in downtown Bedford, PA. Over 100 community leaders from across the Commonwealth attended to celebrate the achievements of these awardees. Not only did these community leaders celebrate the Townie Award recipients, attendees also explored downtown Bedford through 4 tours, an Art & Museum Tour, a History Tour, a Foodie Tour and a Bike Tour put together by host Downtown Bedford Inc.
