Primary Victory Paves Way for Barley Snyder Partner Paul W. Minnich to Join York County Judiciary
York, Pa. – Barley Snyder is proud to announce that partner Paul W. Minnich has secured both the Democratic and Republican nominations for Judge of the York County Court of Common Pleas in the primary election on May 20, 2025. Having cross-filed and run uncontested in both primaries, Minnich's victory effectively assures his election to the bench, marking a significant step towards his anticipated service to the community.
"I am deeply humbled and incredibly honored by the profound trust that the citizens of York County have demonstrated in me through this process," said Minnich. "The overwhelming support from community members across the political spectrum is truly inspiring. I am eager to bring my three decades of legal experience, my unwavering commitment to justice, and my deep roots in this community to the Court of Common Pleas. I look forward to serving all of York County with integrity and fairness, and I am particularly grateful for the invaluable experience and support I've gained throughout my career at Barley Snyder."
Minnich brings an exceptional breadth and depth of legal expertise to his judicial candidacy. As a partner in Barley Snyder's Litigation Practice Group, he has built a formidable reputation in complex commercial, real estate and fiduciary litigation. His extensive trial practice spans both state and federal courts across Pennsylvania and Maryland, equipping him with a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape. Minnich also serves as co-chair of the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Service Team, helping businesses resolve conflicts outside the courtroom through methods such as mediation and arbitration. Beyond his legal prowess, Minnich is known for his dedication to community service – a cornerstone of his career.
A proud native of York, Minnich has consistently invested in the growth and well-being of his hometown. He currently serves as a board member of WellSpan Health, where he also sits on the Governance and Compensation committee. Minnich’s past community involvement includes various board leadership positions with TrueNorth Wellness Services, Crossroads Counseling and Education Services, Inc., the York County Bar Foundation, in addition to other nonprofit organizations, underscoring his profound commitment to the region.
Upon his official election in November, Minnich is expected to be sworn into office on the first Monday of January following the general election, at which point he will officially begin his 10-year term as a Judge of the York County Court of Common Pleas.
“The Barley Snyder team extends its deepest gratitude to Paul for his decades of dedicated service and invaluable contributions to the firm. We wish him the very best as he embarks on this important new chapter of public service,” said managing partner Jennifer Craighead Carey.
