2026 Hometown Hero Banners Now Displayed in Downtown Hanover

Hanover, PA — Main Street Hanover is proud to announce that the 2026 Hometown Hero Banners are now on display throughout downtown Hanover, honoring local men and women who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces and National Guard.

This beloved program would not be possible without the continued partnership of the Borough of Hanover Public Works Department, which assists with hanging, repairing, and removing the banners each year. Their dedication ensures the program remains a meaningful and visible tribute throughout the downtown district.
“The most enriching part of this program is getting to meet the sponsors and family members of the honorees,” said Moriah Tyler, Executive Director of Main Street Hanover. “Many visit our office to process their applications, and I get to learn so much about their service and their lives. Those moments are a powerful reminder of how incredible our community members truly are.”
The Hometown Hero Banner Program invites community members to show their love and appreciation for a service member in their life. Each banner proudly displays the name, branch of service, and photograph of a qualifying honoree.
A map showing banner locations, along with full program details, can be found at MainStreetHanover.org/hometown-heroes/.
