Hanover Borough Police Department Seeking Act 120 Qualified Candidates

Hanover, Pa. – The Hanover Borough Police Department is seeking dedicated and qualified individuals to join its police force. Applicants must possess Act 120 certification or have PA law enforcement of equivalent status and are currently serving in good standing. Experience involving municipal policing such as in a borough, city, or similar setting, is required. The selection process includes successful completion of both written and oral examinations, a physical fitness assessment, as well as passing a drug screening and psychological evaluation.

Applications may be obtained at the Borough of Hanover Public Administration Building, 33 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through

Friday. Additionally, applications may be submitted online at www.HanoverBoroughPA.gov/FormCenter/Human-Resources-5/Application-for-Employment-or-Volunteer--47.

Completed applications will be accepted until 4:30 PM on Monday, June 15, 2026. Cover letters shall be submitted to Vickie Roberts, Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police at 44 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA or via email at VRoberts@HanoverBoroughPA.gov.

A $30.00 non-refundable fee is required with the submission of the application. Cash, money order, cashier’s check, or certified check will be accepted. Checks should be made out to the Hanover Borough Police Department. Personal checks will not be accepted.

The written and oral examination process will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Borough of Hanover Public Administration Building, 33 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.

Competitive benefits include salary base ranging from $65,448 to $109,080 for lateral hires, paid time off and holiday pay, pension plan, training and tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for special teams and advancement.
