Hanover Borough Police Department Participates in Kindness Week Worldwide

HANOVER, PA — The Hanover Borough Police Department is proud to announce its active participation in Kindness Week Worldwide occurring November 7 – 14, 2026. Kindness Week Worldwide is a global initiative dedicated to promoting and spreading acts of kindness and making a positive impact for the betterment of communities locally and beyond throughout the world.

During Kindness Week Worldwide, the Hanover Borough Police Department is committed to embracing its spirit and underlying motto to “See the Good. Be the Good. Go the Extra Mile!” They will be issuing special Kindness Citations to honor community members who exemplify the initiative’s eight characteristics: Gratitude, Patience, Forgiveness, Empathy/Compassion, Respect, Joy, Generosity, and Service.

Additionally, Mayor Heidi Hormel presented a proclamation at the meeting of the Borough of Hanover Council on October 28, 2026 declaring November 7 – 14, 2026, as World Kindness Week effective in the Borough of Hanover, when community members and organizations are encouraged to personify the theme of Kindness Week Worldwide: “See the Good. Be the Good. Go the Extra Mile.”

Individual citizens may also report on their own acts of kindness as an inspiration to others through the project’s website page Ripples of Kindness (ROK) at www.ROKindness.org.

ABOUT KINDNESS WORLDWIDE

Following a random act of kindness between two strangers, Kindness Worldwide was formed as a grassroots collaboration to unify communities and ecosystems around the worthy and nurturing aspects of kindness. Formed as a designated 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization, Kindness Worldwide strives to identify, celebrate and amplify acts of kindness globally –no matter if they be from individuals or organizations – in the execution of its vision “to create a culture of kindness in communities throughout the world.” Kindness Worldwide believes Kindness is one of humanity’s greatest assets and is a choice that should be universally encouraged, recognized, rewarded, and celebrated as a primary means of human unification regardless of ethnicity, creed, personal identity, faith, politics, nationality, or other affinity factors. Kindness Week Worldwide was launched in 2023 based on this belief. More details on the mission and vision of Kindness Worldwide are available at www.KindnessWorldwide.org.
