Delone Catholic Welcomes Waynesburg University to Growing List of Partner Institutions

Delone Catholic High School is expanding its commitment to its students' futures by welcoming Waynesburg University as the newest member of its growing College Partnership Program. This exciting collaboration creates a direct, supportive bridge from high school to higher education, giving Squires a clear pathway to an affordable, high-quality college experience.
Through this new college partnership, Waynesburg University will offer Delone Catholic graduates guaranteed admission and a minimum four-year renewable scholarship of $12,000 per year—totaling $48,000 in tuition support—for students who meet the academic criteria.
A Shared Heart for Faith and Service
What makes this college partnership a natural fit is the deep alignment of values between the two schools. Waynesburg University, a private Christian college of about 1,300 students in Southwestern Pennsylvania, has been blending faith, learning, and service since 1849. Just as Delone Catholic challenges students to lead and serve their communities, Waynesburg prepares its graduates to go out and transform the world.
"When we look for institutions to join our College Partnership Program, we look for places where our students will not just succeed academically, but truly thrive as whole people," said Principal David Staub '94, P'25,P'28. "Waynesburg University values the exact same things we do: faith, character, and a heart for service. This partnership gives our families peace of mind, knowing that a remarkable, faith-filled college education is both accessible and affordable."
How Delone Catholic Students Qualify
The College Partnership Program is designed to reward the hard work Delone Catholic students put into their classes every day. To qualify for the guaranteed admission and the $48,000 scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- GPA Requirement: Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA, with no individual course grades of D+ or lower.
- Test-Optional Flexibility: Waynesburg is currently test-optional. Students do not need to submit SAT or ACT scores to qualify. However, if a student chooses to submit them, the university looks for a 1000 SAT or a 19 ACT.
By removing the guesswork from the college application process, this partnership allows students to focus on finishing their high school careers strong, confident in where they are headed next.
Looking Toward the Future
For over 175 years, Waynesburg University has been sending educators, business leaders, ministers, and statesmen into the world to make a difference. Through this expanded College Partnership Program, Delone Catholic is thrilled to give the next generation of Squires the chance to carry on that legacy.
Delone Catholic families who want to learn more about how to take advantage of this new partnership are encouraged to contact their school counselor.
