Breast Cancer Awareness Month Highlights Specialized Restorative Tattooing Services in Downtown Hanover

Hanover, PA – During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Main Street Hanover is highlighting the specialized services available right here in downtown Hanover, including Skin Vixen Nikki, a locally owned studio helping women explore restorative tattooing and aesthetic treatments in a private, supportive environment.

Located at 43 Frederick Street, Suite 3, Skin Vixen Nikki is owned by Nikki Vlahos, a licensed esthetician with more than a decade of experience in the aesthetics industry. Her studio specializes in permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing, with a particular focus on restorative areola tattooing for women following mastectomy, breast cancer surgery, and reconstruction.
For many breast cancer survivors, the journey does not end when treatment and reconstruction are complete. Restorative areola tattooing can be an important final step in helping women restore the appearance of their breasts and feel more comfortable in their bodies. Through specialized three-dimensional (3D) tattooing techniques, Vlahos creates realistic areola and nipple designs tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
“I want women to know they have options, and that they don’t have to travel far to find someone trained in this specialized work,” said Vlahos. “Opening my studio in my hometown of Hanover was incredibly important to me. So many women have to travel for their breast cancer treatments, surgeries, and reconstruction. I wanted them to have the option of receiving this final step close to home, in a space where they feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for.”
Vlahos opened Skin Vixen Nikki in April 2026 after earning first place in Paramedical Areola Tattooing at the international Skin Games competition in Dallas, Texas. A licensed esthetician since 2013, she brings extensive experience in a medical spa setting and has earned 25 certificates in permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing, including specialized training in restorative techniques.
Beyond 3D areola tattooing, Vlahos offers areola blush tattooing to enhance color and address asymmetry, as well as inkless scar and stretch mark treatments designed to improve the appearance and texture of affected skin. For appropriate candidates, scar and stretch mark camouflage tattooing uses carefully blended skin-tone pigments to reduce visible contrast between the treated area and surrounding skin. She also provides permanent eyebrow tattooing to enhance natural shape, definition, and symmetry.
At Skin Vixen Nikki, individualized care extends beyond the treatment itself. Vlahos prioritizes education, realistic expectations, privacy, and a personalized approach to every appointment. Whenever possible, she reserves the entire day or significantly limits her schedule for restorative areola appointments, allowing clients the time and space they need. Clients are also welcome to bring a partner, close friend, or another support person.
“Survivors have already been through so much. They deserve to know their options, they deserve access to this specialized service, and they deserve to have their experience treated with the time, attention, and respect it calls for,” said Vlahos. “I believe the service experience should be as intentional as the procedure itself. I want this to feel like a day dedicated to them, not just another medical appointment.”
For Main Street Hanover, highlighting businesses like Skin Vixen Nikki is an opportunity to remind the community that downtown is home to more than shops, restaurants, and seasonal events. Local businesses also provide specialized services and meaningful resources that can make a difference in people’s lives.
“Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important reminder that support can take many forms, including access to specialized services close to home,” said Moriah Tyler, Executive Director of Main Street Hanover. “We are proud to highlight local business owners like Nikki who bring specialized training, compassion, and an important service to our community. Knowing that women can access this type of restorative care right here in downtown Hanover is something worth sharing.”
Skin Vixen Nikki operates by appointment and consultation only. Women interested in restorative areola tattooing, scar treatments, or other services are encouraged to contact the studio to discuss their individual needs, available options, and whether a treatment may be appropriate for them.
