Borough of Hanover Announces Upcoming Construction Activity Along Wilson Avenue
Hanover, Pa. – The Borough of Hanover advises residents and commuters to prepare for increased construction activity in the area behind the former Rite Aid store along Wilson Avenue. Construction is expected to continue through late May 2026.
Three major infrastructure and evaluation projects will be underway simultaneously:
Slagle Run Restoration Project
Crews are mobilizing for the Slagle Run Stream and Floodplain Restoration Project, which is designed to improve environmental conditions and reduce flooding risks in the area.
Sanitary Sewer Relocation
Work to relocate the sanitary sewer main will also be taking place. This phase of construction may require temporary road closures and traffic pattern changes.
Site Evaluation and Geotechnical Drilling
Geotechnical drilling will occur at the site of a potential future hotel development to evaluate subsurface soil conditions.
Traffic and Pedestrian Safety
Due to the presence of heavy equipment and construction crews, residents are urged to use caution when traveling through the Wilson Avenue area. Equipment may be stopped or moving near active traffic lanes and could intermittently alter traffic patterns.
