BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING SUMMARY OF AUGUST MEETING
The following are the highlights of the Borough Council’s meeting held on August 27, 2025. Supporting documents on most items of Council business are available on the Borough website (www.HanoverBoroughPA.gov) under “Agendas and Minutes”.
BOROUGH COUNCIL ACTIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
LOCAL SHARE ACCOUNT CATEGORY 4 FACILITIES PROGRAM GRANT: Approval was granted for Resolution 1445 to authorize submission of a grant application for funding the purchase and fit-out of a refuse disposal truck.
ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE AND MAP: Approval was granted to authorize staff to forward the draft ordinance and map to the York County Planning Commission and the Hanover Borough Planning Commission for review and comment as per the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code. Approval was also granted to authorize the Borough Manager / staff to advertise for the public hearing and adoption once the York County Planning Commission and the Hanover Borough Planning Commission comments are received and addressed.
MUNICIPAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM GRANT APPLICATION: Approval was granted for Resolution No. 1446 to authorize Borough staff to collaborate with Delta Development to prepare, pursue and submit a PA DCED Municipal Assistance Program (MAP) Grant application in the amount of $36,226.07 to assist in funding 50% of 2026 Comprehensive Plan update costs.
ADVERTISEMENT OF ORDINANCE TO RESTRICT PARKING: Approval was granted to advertise Ordinance No. 2382 restricting parking on the 100 block of East Park Avenue, east of Railroad Street to accommodate commercial truck movements, 5 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday.
