Barley Snyder Partner Paul Mattaini Named ''Lawyer of the Year'' in Corporate Law by Best Lawyers

Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder partner Paul G. Mattaini has been named a "Lawyer of the Year" by The Best Lawyers in America® in its 2027 edition, earning the publication's highest distinction for corporate law in the Harrisburg metropolitan area.

The "Lawyer of the Year" designation is awarded to the attorney receiving the highest overall peer-review rating in a specific practice area and geographic region. Because only one lawyer is recognized in each practice area and metropolitan area, the honor is among the most selective distinctions awarded by Best Lawyers.

This marks Mattaini's fourth recent "Lawyer of the Year" recognition by Best Lawyers. He was previously named "Lawyer of the Year" for Banking and Finance Law in the 2020 and 2026 editions and for Mergers and Acquisitions Law in the 2025 edition.

"While I am honored to receive this recognition, it more so reflects the exceptional clients and colleagues I have been fortunate to work with and the professional relationships I have enjoyed during my career," said Mattaini. "The practice of corporate law is inherently collaborative, and I am grateful to work alongside talented attorneys and dedicated clients who place their trust in us every day."

Mattaini concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities, banking and corporate law. He advises public companies, privately held businesses and financial institutions on complex transactions, corporate governance matters and strategic business initiatives. Known for his practical, results-oriented approach, he regularly serves as trusted outside counsel to businesses across a wide range of industries.

Mattaini has consistently been recognized by Best Lawyers in the areas of Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, Banking and Finance Law, and Securities/Capital Markets Law. He also holds an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected to Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for Mergers and Acquisitions. In 2023, he received the Pennsylvania Bankers Association's Champion for Women Award for his efforts to support and advance women in the banking industry. Most recently, he was named a 2026 Leaders in Law honoree in the "Dealmakers" category by the Central Penn Business Journal.

Mattaini is a member of Barley Snyder's Business Practice Group, which advises clients on matters ranging from business formation and governance to mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions and succession planning. Learn more about the group's services here.
