Barley Snyder Partner Maria Di Stravolo Elliott Named “Lawyer of the Year” in Real Estate Law
Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder partner Maria Di Stravolo Elliott has been named a “Lawyer of the Year” by The Best Lawyers in America® in its 32nd edition. Elliott received the top distinction in Real Estate Law for the Harrisburg metropolitan area.
The 32nd edition of Best Lawyers continues its longstanding tradition of honoring the country’s most accomplished legal professionals. The highly selective “Lawyer of the Year” recognition is awarded to attorneys who receive the highest overall peer review ratings in their respective fields and geographic areas. Elliott was previously recognized by Best Lawyers in 2024 and 2025 for her work in real estate law. This year marks her first time receiving the prestigious “Lawyer of the Year” distinction – a testament to her continued leadership, knowledge, and excellence in the field.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by my peers,” said Elliott. “Real estate and construction law are not just my practice areas – they're my passion. I’m grateful to work with outstanding clients and colleagues who make this recognition possible.”
Elliott is a partner in Barley Snyder’s Real Estate and Construction groups, where she advises international, national, regional and local clients on complex real estate and construction transactions. Her experience spans commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, including hospitals, banks, higher education institutions, utility infrastructure, apartment complexes, shopping centers, nursing homes, and continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). She frequently prepares documentation for developers involved in condominium and planned community projects and has extensive experience representing homeowner associations. Elliott is known for her hands-on, collaborative approach, guiding clients through every stage of the real estate process.
In addition to her real estate work, Elliott has a robust construction law practice. She is recognized as a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, an invitation-only international honorary association comprising leading construction law attorneys and industry professionals. Additionally, Elliott regularly shares her knowledge by presenting to regional trade associations on topics related to real estate and construction law.
Elliott is also deeply involved in her community. She currently serves as president of the board of directors for Venture Lititz and is a member of the development committee for the Lititz Rec Center.
