Barley Snyder Partner Maria Di Stravolo Elliott Named Chair of Construction Industry Group
Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that partner Maria Di Stravolo Elliott has been named chair of the firm’s Construction Industry Group. Elliott previously chaired the group and returns to the role with extensive experience guiding clients through complex construction and real estate matters.
Barley Snyder’s Construction Industry Group offers deep, industry-specific insight at every stage of the construction process – from planning and permitting to project completion and dispute resolution. As chair, Elliott will lead a team of attorneys providing comprehensive legal representation to clients across both public and private sector construction projects.
Elliott’s construction law practice spans all phases of projects, including drafting and negotiating contracts, bidding matters, claims avoidance and settlement, change orders, lien waivers, limited notice to proceed letters, and termination of contracts. She regularly addresses mechanics’ liens, liquidated damages and AIA contract matters, in addition to providing guidance on compliance with Pennsylvania construction laws, the Uniform Construction Code, and the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act.
Elliott has handled numerous high-profile projects, including multi-million-dollar real estate acquisitions, zoning approvals and entitlements, and complex lease agreements, along with the construction contracts stemming from those projects. In 2020, she was named a Fellow at the Construction Lawyers Society of America, an invitation-only international honorary association of preeminent lawyers specializing in construction law and related fields. In 2025, Elliott was named “Lawyer of the Year” by The Best Lawyers in America® in its 32nd edition, receiving the top distinction in Real Estate Law for the Harrisburg metropolitan area.
“I’m honored to return as chair of the firm’s Construction Industry Group,” said Elliott. “Construction and real estate projects are at the heart of building thriving communities and successful businesses. Our group brings deep knowledge and a collaborative approach to every engagement, and I look forward to guiding our attorneys as we continue to deliver practical solutions, protect our clients’ interests, and advance the construction industry.”
Elliott succeeds partner Christopher A. Naylor, who previously chaired the group and now leads the firm’s newly formed Manufacturing Industry Group, while remaining an active and valued member of the Construction Industry Group.
“Maria is an ideal fit to lead the Construction Industry Group,” said Naylor. “Her prior leadership of the team, combined with her extensive experience in construction law, ensures continuity and positions the group to tackle new challenges and deliver exceptional results for our clients.”
