Barley Snyder Partner John Reed Named to Lancaster County Magazine’s Best of Lancaster 2025 List

Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that partner John T. Reed has been named to Lancaster County Magazine’s “Best of Lancaster 2025” list, an honor recognizing the region’s most respected professionals as selected by readers across Lancaster County.

Published annually, The Best of Lancaster celebrates businesses and individuals who make a meaningful impact in the community they serve. The attorney category recognizes legal professionals who demonstrate exceptional skill, professionalism, and a strong commitment to Lancaster County. Reed’s selection reflects not only his dedication to providing outstanding legal counsel, but also his long-standing investment in strengthening the local community.

“Being recognized by the Lancaster County community is especially meaningful to me,” said Reed. “Lancaster has been my home for many years, and I’m grateful for the trust and support of this community. I remain committed to serving our clients and contributing to the continued strength of the region.”

Since settling in Lancaster, Reed has made civic engagement a personal and professional priority. He believes strong communities are built through dedicated volunteer leadership and that a thriving community creates a stable and successful business environment – a principle he sees demonstrated throughout central Pennsylvania. These values of responsibility, sustainability, and leadership also guide his legal practice.

Reed is a member of Barley Snyder’s Business Practice Group and chairs the firm’s Family Owned Business practice. He advises family-owned and closely held businesses, providing strategic guidance throughout all stages of business ownership, including acquisitions and sales. He also serves on the firm’s management committee, helping shape initiatives that support long-term client relationships and firm growth.

Beyond the firm, Reed remains actively involved in the Lancaster community, serving in leadership roles with several civic and business organizations and on corporate boards, including the Lancaster City Revitalization & Improvement Zone (CRIZ) Authority, the Lancaster City Alliance, and The Wenger Group. He has also been involved with the S. Dale High Family Business Center at Elizabethtown College since its inception.

In recognition of his professional excellence, Reed has been named to The Best Lawyers in America® 2026 edition for Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law for thirteen consecutive years and has twice been honored as a “Lawyer of the Year” for Closely Held Companies and Family Businesses Law in the Harrisburg metro area.
