President
The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a full-time President to serve as the strategic and operational leader of the Chamber, responsible for advancing its mission, vision, and values. This individual will lead the organization’s daily operations, staff, and volunteers with energy and vision—cultivating trust, engagement, and collaboration among members, sponsors, local nonprofits, and community leaders.
Core Responsibilities include:
- Membership engagement, fundraising and event leadership, strategic community partnerships, and organizational management to ensure sustainable growth and impact.
- Be a trusted resource and advisor to elected officials regarding business-related topics
- Work closely with Borough leadership & Main Street Hanover to further objectives for the collective good of the community
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among businesses and all levels of government
- Drive workforce development solutions
- Leadership and development of Chamber programs designed to provide tangible benefits and services that add value to the membership
- Maintain 5-star accreditation through the US Chamber of Commerce
- Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, communications, or related field preferred. MBA a plus.
- 7+ years of demonstrated financial management, including event and sponsorship development.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public-speaking abilities.
- Grant identification and writing skills including maintenance of existing grants
- Energetic, approachable, and able to foster trust and engagement across diverse stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating with and engaging Board of Directors
- Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
- Candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to work independently, while maintaining a team atmosphere.
- 7+ years of proven leadership or management experience within a chamber, business association, or community organization.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution skills and community-building mindset.
- Proven track record executing Chamber programs and events that add value to members
- Development experience including cultivating sponsors and grant writing experience
- Proven experience in non-profit leadership
- Community engagement expertise to include relationship building with businesses, government and civic organizations.
- Ability to attend early and after-hours functions and all Chamber events throughout the year
