Workshop: ISO 9001, 2015 Transition Intro.
Impact Management, a Hanover based consulting/training company with a global footprint, is offering to the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce the opportunity to provide a brief workshop introducing the contents of the next edition of ISO 9001 prior to its publication in September. The President of the company, John J. Guzik, is a Participating Member of the U.S. TAG ISO/TC176, and is intimately involved with the development of this next edition.
ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognized quality management system (QMS) standard. It sets out what is viewed as the minimum requirements for a complete QMS. Many B2B organizations, in a variety of industries certify their QMSs; in many cases, at the prodding of their customers. In some cases, contracts specifically require certification to ISO 9001.
In September, 2015, ISO 9001 will be releasing its fifth edition. This edition will consist of a total restructuring, as well as revised and new requirements. Organizations that are certified to the current edition will be required to update their systems or relinquish their certificates. In many cases, loss of the certificate would jeopardize contracts.
Local companies would benefit greatly from this workshop, which would provide them with invaluable information to begin preparations to upgrade their QMSs. Similar presentations are currently being publically presented online by persons with similar background. Mr. Guzik has already delivered this presentation to the Baltimore/DC Chapter of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) with extremely positive feedback; and has also delivered this information in Austin, TX for British Standards, Inc.
