We Fight for Family: Eat Your Heart Out for Charity
Ryan and Spring are in their early 30’s. They live in Chambersburg, a small town located in the South Central region of Pennsylvania, southwest of Harrisburg. Their home is a modest one-story, 3-bedroom, with a front yard and garage. Ryan and Spring have two children -- 5 and 4 years old, respectively -- and, on weekends, Ryan's 12-year-old stepson also joins them. Ryan works as an HVAC technician, while Spring is a homemaker caring for the kids. A couple of months ago, their family grew (temporarily) by two, as they took in Spring's younger sister and 1-year-old baby.
Then, on December 11, tragedy struck. The family learned that Spring's older sister, who was a single mother, had suddenly died, leaving behind three daughters (ages 15, 10 and 7). Ryan and Spring, as the saying goes, did what they had to do. They moved the children in.
Three-bedroom home. Ten people, seven children. The goal here is simple: to help this family who have helped so many and, hopefully, raise enough money to build an addition to the house for the girls.
A Taste of Bourbon will be having an all-you-can-eat buffet from 4pm-9pm for $10, and $4 from each sale will go directly to the family. (Children 8-12 eat for $5; children under 7 are free). Please come out, take a night off from making dinner, and show support.
