We’re transforming the galleries of the Antique Automobile club of America Museum into a spectacular holiday wonderland featuring Christmas trees through the ages adorned with themed decorations and wide variety of displays and exhibits! Other special features include: Lego Technic Super Cars display, Celebrity vehicle display including Ernie's Taxi from "It's a Wonderful Life", Hess Truck display, Grinch Scavenger Hunt, Antique Dolls, Pedal Cars, 1938 Datsun Light Fire Truck, Trains and much more!
Trains, Trains & More Trains - All Aboard! Visitors can enjoy a variety of train displays located throughout the building. Our Roads to Rails display has multiple trains running in the town of Tuckerville along with many interactive elements and Thomas the Tank Engine, a family favorite! Other trains include a Hershey Trolley, Western theme train and Polar Express.
Snowmobiles, Sleds & Sleighs - See a variety of vintage snowmobiles including a 1964 Ski Doo RD-64 dual track, the 1971 land-speed record holding Johnson Pegasus Bonneville drag sled, a very rare 1969 Ski Jet made in Archibald, PA, a pint-sized Arctic Cat Kitty Kat, a 1969 Ski Doo Olympic 320A/S, a 1974 Viking Vigilante 440, a Polaris sled with a rear engine, and a Ski-Boose pull behind sleigh.
MINI Snowmobile "Monster Machine" - This MINI Snowmobile was designed and created in 2003 as part of the Discovery Channel's "Monster Garage" television program. The show, hosted by custom motorcycle fabricator and owner of West Coast Choppers, Jesse James, features James and his assembly team attempting to modify an everyday production vehicle into a "monster machine" under strict rules that place restrictions on time, budget and parts. The show then concludes with a challenge related to the new monster machine. Upon completion, James took the MINI snowmobile to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to race NASCAR legend Richard Petty on a Polaris snowmobile. James and his team assembled the MINI Snowmobile out of a standard model MINI Cooper Hardtop during a one hour episode that originally aired on February 24, 2003.
Celebrity Cars - here's your chance to see a variety of great vehicles with a celebrity connection! Ernie's GMC Taxi from "It's a Wonderful Life", Betty Davis' 1942 Buick Roadmaster Woody wagon, Betty White's Cadillac Seville, and Whitney Houston's Rolls-Royce Limousine to name a few.
Advanced Lego Technic Super Cars – Lego Technic is a specialized line of Legos, which incorporates interconnecting pieces into the already adaptable Lego brick design. Lego builders can use these gears, motors, movable arms, wheels, pneumatics, and axles to create and building Lego pieces that are truly eye-catching and mobile. These versatile components create a platform for endless creativity and enable any Lego builder to construct anything within their imagination. Whether you want to build a sports car, motorcycle helicopter or monster truck these Lego Technic pieces give you the power to make the model a functioning and interactive work of art. Our display cases will include a collection of several custom created Lego Supercars. These cars will include a white & black vampire, red Porsche 997 GT3 and a 1957 Chevy being built specifically for this exhibit! Car-Toon Truck & Art Display area - see the 1928 Ford Roadster Pick up decorated with 30,000 comic book characters, every comic book character from 1896 through the present day! This special gallery will also include a variety of other art pieces that tell the story of "Saving our History with Art". The artist, Robert Luczun has a resolve to recycle/save antique auto parts and other items of interest and paint them with a variety of historical themes for you to enjoy the journey. Many pieces will be on display with themes including: Money Car, Carousel, Concept Cars, Games, NASCAR, Star Wars and Super Heroes.
Mr. Beep, the Talking Car - Mr. Beep was a project initiated by the BP Oil Company in the late 50s and early 60s. Mr. Beep the Talking Car was used to bring traffic safety lessons to school children and he was used during public occasions like the Canadian National Exhibition, fall fairs and other public gatherings. Lectures were broadcasted via 3 speakers concealed in the car, voiced from a transmitter several hundred feet away. . He also visited schools and made several television appearances. The car underneath Mr. Beep’s facade was a small 1959 Zephyr convertible made by British Ford. Learn more about Mr. Beep’s rebirth on the History Channel TV series Canadian Restorers which will air in the fall of 2013.
Sammy the Snow Plow will be back for the holidays this year! Sammy is our 1967 four wheel-drive Walter snowplow weighing in at more than 21 tons and 29 ½ ft. in length. Sammy loves the cold weather so you’ll find him outside on the Museum grounds.
Great Grinch Escape - How many Grinch and Max the Dog characters can you find hidden throughout the Museum in every display area? Play along and count as you go!
Holiday Tree Decorating Contest - various local schools will be decorating a tree with ornaments made in their school art program. Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite tree. Trees by the top three schools will be rewarded with a VISA gift card.
