Neighbors in Knead- Food Prep and Distribution Day
Introducing “Neighbors in Knead” a community outreach mission made possible through the partnership of Emmanuel United Church of Christ and the spiritual community of The Serpent’s Key Shoppe & Sanctuary. This community donation based program aims to supply our unhoused, and families battling food insecurity, with support and nourishment. This mission will meet on the first Monday of the month from 6pm- 8pm at Emmanuel United Church to bake loaves of bread and create a fellowship between these two spiritual communities. A sign-up genius will be made available prior to the Monday night baking session where it is suggested that participants sign-up for an item donation that will be used to create bag lunches the following day. The first Tuesday of the month the church will be open to our “Neighbors in Knead” to come and pick up bag lunches and other self care necessities. The number of individuals facing both homelessness and food scarcity in our area and across the country has multiplied in recent years, and as good stewards in the community we hope to manifest a bridge of caring where we embrace and care for our neighbors when they need it most in a judgment free exchange of community and connection. If you also feel called to help please join us for our first meeting on Monday November 3rd at 6pm in the fellowship hall kitchen of Emmanuel UCC located at 124 Broadway, Hanover PA. Volunteers can also help prep bagged lunches the following day Tuesday November 4th Starting at 11am in the same location. Free bagged lunches will be available to pick up at the church starting at 12:30pm to anyone in need. Sign up online: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0544A9AC23A2FEC34-59623660-november#/
