40TH ANNUAL STREET ROD NATIONALS EAST PLUS EVENT
Route 30 comes alive when more than 4,000 street rods, muscle cars, custom cars, trucks and specialty vehicles motor into York County for the 40th Annual Street Rod Nationals East Plus event hosted by the National Street Rod Association (NSRA).
The event is one of the region’s largest automotive shows and brings visitors from all over the eastern United States to York County, PA! In fact, msn.com named the event one of the top auto events of 2013! Not to mention, the show is estimated to bring an economic impact of approximately $7 million to York County!
All vehicles on display must be at least thirty years of age or older and are, on average, worth between $10,000 and $35,000. According to Jerry Kennedy, Special Events Director for the NSRA, the collective worth of all displayed vehicles is projected to be more than 100 million dollars!
The York County Convention and Visitors Bureau (York County CVB) is the Official Tourism Promotion Agency for York County. The Mission of the York County CVB is to plan, support and promote programs designed to stimulate and encourage meetings, conventions, sporting events, and leisure activities, and to develop and enhance tourism in York County, PA. On Friday, May 31, the show will kick-off with a parade through downtown York starting at noon. This annual tradition showcases street rods of all shapes, sizes and colors.
The event wraps up on Sunday, June 2 with the presentation of awards at the York Expo Center’s Grandstand.
Location
During this three-day show, held at the York Expo Center, visitors have the opportunity to participate in free manufacturer seminars, purchase a variety of specialty automotive equipment during the trade show, listen to live entertainment, and, of course, gaze at the beautiful cars on display.
Other activities include the 2013 National Street Rod Nationals East Plus Model Car Contest, a special “Woman’s World” area featuring arts and crafts and a vintage swap meet.
Fees/Admission
Admission to the 40th Annual Street Rod Nationals East Plus is $14 for adults, $5 for children ages six to 12 and free admission to children under the age of five.
Hours of operation are as follows: Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
