SUMMARY:Cavalry Demonstration
DESCRIPTION:July 2\, 2013\, will witness the reenactment of the Battle of Hanover\, an 1863 engagement that delayed J.E.B. Stuart's return to Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia during the Gettysburg campaign. The countryside will rumble with the roar of cannons as horse-drawn artillery units maneuver into position\, and the earth will tremble from the hoofbeats of hundreds of horses as the Battle of Hanover begins to rage. J. David Petruzzi\, author of The Complete Gettysburg Guide\, will provide the narration.\n\n	\n\n	Over 200 dedicated cavalry reenactors\, mounted\, spurred\, and armed\, will recreate the scene on the historic Sheppard Farm in Union Township\, Adams County\, PA. The 600 acre farm includes land actually fought over on June 30\, 1863\, as Stuart vainly tried to reconnect with Lee. The event is open to the public with ticket sales and other proceeds benefiting the Land Conservancy of Adams County (LCAC).\n\n	\n\n	Proceeds benefit the Land Conservancy of Adams County
