WellSpan Announces Relocation and Expansion of Orthopedic Services in the Hanover Area

YORK, Pa. (Aug. 26, 2024) – WellSpan Health is relocating and expanding its orthopedic services near Hanover, enhancing convenience and access for patients requiring specialized bone and joint care. Effective today, WellSpan Orthopedics and WellSpan Urgent Orthopedics have moved to the WellSpan Health and Surgery Center located at 1227 Baltimore Street in nearby Penn Township. The practices were previously located at 207 Blooming Grove Road in the township.

“Shifting services to the Health and Surgery Center will make it easier for our Hanover area patients to receive high quality orthopedic care, specialty care, and surgical services all under one roof, without having to travel to different locations,” said Dr. John Deitch, orthopedic surgeon and vice president and chief medical officer of orthopedics at WellSpan Health. “The expansion not only broadens our capacity to serve more patients, but also brings our orthopedic and sports medicine care team into a new and improved space with co-located advanced imaging capabilities including ultrasound, X-ray, CT scan, MRI and other advanced scanning to ensure our patients get on the road to recovery faster.”

The WellSpan Health and Surgery Center, an 80,000 square foot facility that opened in 2019, is home to numerous services and practices as well as an outpatient surgery center, notably the first in the WellSpan system to offer same-day discharge total joint replacements – a service only available at WellSpan hospitals prior to December 2023.
