Main Street Hanover Welcomes Alex Brown as Part-Time Staff Member Following Successful Internship

Hanover, PA — Main Street Hanover is pleased to announce the hiring of Alex Brown as a part-time staff member, following the successful completion of her internship with the organization. Alex began her work with Main Street Hanover in January 2026 as part of her college program and quickly made a lasting impression through her creativity, initiative, and dedication to the downtown community.

“As Alex’s internship came to a close, it was clear she had done phenomenal work,” said Moriah Tyler, Executive Director of Main Street Hanover. “She is initiative-driven, creative, and has become deeply connected with our downtown businesses. Both I and our Executive Board felt strongly that she truly embraced the Main Street Hanover mission, and we were excited to welcome her to the team in a part-time role.”
Alex is currently a senior at York College of Pennsylvania and is anticipated to graduate in December 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in English & Writing. She is an accomplished writer with several creative works published in various literary magazines and has been recognized as a finalist in York’s Carraway Creative Writing Awards for two consecutive years. Outside of her work in Downtown Hanover, Alex enjoys working on her novels, reading, and spending time at local coffee shops.
Main Street Hanover’s recent staffing expansion marks an important milestone for the organization, which had previously been staffed solely by Executive Director Moriah Tyler. With the addition of Alex, the organization continues to build its capacity to support and enhance the downtown district.
Main Street Hanover is led by a dedicated Board of Directors comprised of 11 community leaders, including Chairperson Mindy Crawford (Preservation PA), Co-Chairperson and Secretary Vanessa Berger (YWCA), Treasurer Adam Kruzic (Cross Keys Village), and members Jason Duvall (Campbell’s Snacks), Sam Jarvis (Cross Keys Village), Susan Seiple (Hanover Public School District), Tammy Wise (Utz Quality Foods), Jennifer Mosier, DVM, eMBA (Hanover Veterinary Hospital), Taylor Welsh (Becker Law Group P.C.), Margie Lewis (Borough of Hanover), and Jake Taylor (Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce).
Main Street Hanover was launched in January 2013 as a collaborative effort between Hanover Borough, the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce, the Partnership for Economic Development of York County, and the York County Economic Alliance. Guided by the Main Street Four Point Approach®, Organization, Design, Economic Restructuring, and Promotion, the initiative has helped drive a thriving revitalization movement in downtown Hanover.
In October 2018, Main Street Hanover achieved 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, marking a new chapter as an independent, community-led organization. Today, it continues to strengthen partnerships while expanding its impact on the downtown district.
The mission of Main Street Hanover is to expand the economic capacity of downtown Hanover by improving the business environment, enhancing quality of place, and increasing community synergy.
