Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce Launches First-Ever Discover Hanover Cover Photo Contest

Hanover, PA – The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting residents, photographers, and creatives to share their unique perspectives of the community through the first-ever Discover Hanover® Cover Photo Contest. The winning photograph will be featured on the front cover of the 2027 edition of Discover Hanover, the Chamber’s annual guide celebrating the history, culture, businesses, and experiences that make Hanover special.
For previous editions, cover photography was selected internally by the Chamber. This year, the organization is opening the opportunity to the public with the goal of creating greater community engagement and showcasing the incredible talent and diverse perspectives found throughout Hanover.
“This contest is an opportunity for the community to help tell Hanover’s story,” said Ava Kidd, Marketing & Events Coordinator at the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce, “Everyone experiences Hanover differently, whether it’s a favorite historic landmark, a downtown moment, a local gathering, a beautiful view, or a place that holds special meaning. We want to see what defines Hanover through the eyes of the people who know it best.”
The theme of this year’s contest is:
What Defines Hanover?
Photographers are encouraged to submit their best images that capture the character, charm, and spirit of Hanover, Pennsylvania. The winning photograph will greet thousands of readers on the cover of the 2027 Discover Hanover guide, helping introduce visitors and residents alike to the community’s unique story.
Contest Details:
  • Submission Deadline: August 31, 2026
  • Eligibility: Photos must be original work and taken within Hanover, PA.
  • Participants may submit up to four digital entries (one entry per category).
  • Accepted file formats include JPG, PNG, or RAW.
  • Images must be at least 300 DPI and 1080×1920 pixels.
  • Landscape and vertical submissions are accepted.
  • Each photo must include a completed entry form.
  • AI-generated images are not eligible.
Additional rules include:
  • Photos that are digitally altered beyond standard optimization may be disqualified.
  • Images must not contain text, as cover text will be placed over the selected photograph.
  • If a photo includes a subject under 18, the entry form must be signed by the subject’s parent or legal guardian. If the photographer is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the entry form.
  • Entries will be judged based on creativity, composition, and representation of the contest theme.
