Hanover Named One of Hallmark’s 25 Official Christmas Towns; Community Encouraged to Vote

Hanover, PA — Hanover, Pennsylvania is officially in the holiday spotlight!

Main Street Hanover is excited to announce that Hanover has been selected as one of Hallmark’s 25 Official Hallmark Christmas Towns and is now in the running to be named Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Town of 2026.
Earlier this year, Hallmark launched a nationwide search for communities that bring the spirit of Christmas to life. Main Street Hanover submitted an application on behalf of the community, highlighting Hanover’s beloved holiday traditions, celebrations, local businesses, and community spirit. Hallmark also shared that one or more Hanover residents independently nominated the community for consideration.
After reviewing submissions from communities across the country, Hallmark selected Hanover as one of 25 finalists.
“This is such an exciting recognition for Hanover,” said Moriah Tyler, Executive Director of Main Street Hanover. “Our community has so many wonderful Christmas traditions, from Christmas in Hanover and downtown celebrations to the local businesses, organizations, volunteers, and families who make the holiday season so special. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase Hanover’s Christmas spirit on a national stage.”
Now, Hanover Can Vote!
The public selection period begins August 14 and runs through September 4, 2026. Community members and supporters across the country are encouraged to visit https://merriestchristmastownscontest.hallmarkchannel.com/ and select Hanover as their favorite Official Hallmark Christmas Town.
Eligible participants must be U.S. residents age 18 or older and may make one selection per person, per calendar day throughout the voting period. That means supporters can return every day and vote for Hanover again.
Following the community selection period, a panel of judges will evaluate all 25 finalist towns based on Community Spirit, Holiday Traditions, Neighborhood Charm, and Goodwill to determine Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Town of 2026.
The winning community will receive the incredible opportunity to serve as the filming location for a future Hallmark holiday movie.
“We’re encouraging everyone who loves Hanover to help us spread the word,” Tyler added. “Vote every day, share the news with friends and family, and show Hallmark what makes Hanover such a special place to celebrate Christmas. This is a fun opportunity for our entire community to come together and let our holiday spirit shine!”
Main Street Hanover encourages residents, businesses, community organizations, visitors, and Hanover alumni to share the announcement and participate throughout the voting period.
