Downtown Hanover Celebrates August 2nd Saturday with Jaws Screenings at the Eichelberger

Hanover, PA — Main Street Hanover invites the community to make a day of it in Downtown Hanover on Saturday, August 8, 2026, for the monthly 2nd Saturday celebration, featuring special screenings of the iconic summer blockbuster Jaws (1975) at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center, the kickoff of Hanover Restaurant Week, and a full lineup of shopping, family activities, and special promotions throughout downtown.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan or seeing the film for the very first time, Jaws remains one of the most influential movies ever made. The Academy Award-winning thriller, directed by Steven Spielberg, follows a police chief, a seasoned fisherman, and a marine biologist as they attempt to stop a massive great white shark terrorizing a seaside community. Featuring John Williams’ unforgettable score and the famous line, “You’re gonna need a bigger boat,” it’s the perfect way to celebrate the final stretch of summer.
The Eichelberger Performing Arts Center will host three screenings throughout the day:
  • 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
  • 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
  • 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Screenings will take place at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center, 195 Stock Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
Tickets are $7 per person and may be purchased online in advance or at the door while seats remain available.
Visitors are encouraged to spend the entire day exploring Downtown Hanover before or after the film. August’s 2nd Saturday also marks the official kickoff of Hanover Restaurant Week, giving diners the opportunity to enjoy special prix fixe menus at participating restaurants throughout the community.
In addition to the movie screenings, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities and special events across downtown, including:
  • Cultivated Essentials Co. will offer 10% off during their BYOB DIY Candle Studio experience, with no reservation required. Guests can also participate in a special Crystal Intention Candle pop-up in partnership with Moonflower Crystal Bar.
  • Dawg Gone Bees will celebrate the opening of their new Skep Coffee Bar, featuring coffee sweetened exclusively with local raw honey harvested from their own hives.
