Borough of Hanover Parks & Recreation Announces Full Slate of Spring Programming

Hanover, PA — The Borough of Hanover Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce a diverse lineup of spring programs designed to engage residents of all ages through creativity, wellness, nature exploration, and social outings.
The spring season begins with Card Making for Beginners, taught by Dori Schneider, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Guthrie Memorial Library Meeting Room, located at 2 Library Place, Hanover. Participants will receive a complete card-making kit and personalized instruction on assembling handmade cards. The cost to attend is $15.00 per person.
Those seeking relaxation and movement can enjoy Sunset Yoga at Long Arm Reservoir, held at 53 Grand Valley Road, Hanover. This six-week program will take place on Thursdays from April 23 through May 28, 2025, beginning one hour before sunset each week. The program fee is $150.00 per person and offers a serene outdoor yoga experience as the sun sets over the reservoir.
Nature enthusiasts are invited to join Bird Watching at Pickering Creek Audubon Center in Easton, Maryland, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Participants will explore freshwater wetlands, meadows, forest-edge habitats, and mature forests during this peak season for migrating songbirds and waterfowl. Pickering Creek’s 450 acres include created wetlands, viewing platforms, restored meadows, and six miles of scenic trails. The outing includes a private bird-watching tour, van transportation, and a boxed lunch. The group will depart from the Hanover Market House parking lot, 210 East Chestnut Street, at 8:00 AM and return by 5:00 PM. Cost is $50.00 per person.
The Seniors in Action program is also offering a special trip to Hickory Bridge Farm Restaurant in Ortanna, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 featuring lunch and an Elvis Presley performance by Taylor Brown. The cost is $50.00, which includes transportation, lunch, and the show. Participants will depart from the Hanover Market House at 10:15 AM and return by 5:00 PM.
