1st Ed Credit Union Celebrates International Credit Union Day

1st Ed Credit Union joins thousands of participating credit unions around the world by celebrating with a special community event.

CHAMBERSBURG, PA (October 6, 2025) - On October 16, 2025, credit union members around the world will celebrate International Credit Union Day®, an annual event to commemorate the credit union movement’s impact and achievements. This year marks the 77th anniversary of this annual event, which will be celebrated under the theme of “Cooperation for a Prosperous World.” In honor of this special day, 1st Ed Credit Union invites its members and the entire community to attend celebrations at each branch location. Giveaways, refreshments, trivia, and more will be offered at each branch, located in Chambersburg, Greencastle, and Hanover.

In recognition of International Credit Union Day’s 77th anniversary, 1st Ed is offering an opportunity for members to earn $77 with a new checking account. For full details, visit the 1st Ed website.

Since 1948, International Credit Union Day® has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. Each year, the international event affords the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history, promote awareness of and support for the credit union and financial cooperative difference, and put into practice their “people helping people” mission.
